Grok Bot Phone Setup: 7 Single-Job Bots
Enable phone calendar/reminder/contact access → create 7 dedicated Grok Bots with description prompts → configure Vault for logins → apply the 'draft-first' safety rule
- Who
- Grok Bot users who want to automate daily ops and reduce manual email/calendar/billing checks
- You get
- 7 bots run on schedule: morning brief, call prep, monthly invoices, follow-up drafts, inbox routing, weekly numbers, renewal watch
- You need
- Grok Bot
Constraints
Requires Grok Bot account, iOS/Android app (v0.75.5+), Vault enabled. Cost: author notes 5-min routines cost ~12x hourly; non-inbox bots should run daily. First-time Vault users should start with low-risk, infrequent sites only; keep main email and bank accounts out initially.
What they did
@fluixoo published an X Article introducing Grok Bot v0.75.5 phone features (calendar, reminders, contacts, Vault, email forwarding) and provided 7 single-job bot description templates, each automating one daily task.
How it went
Author reported: start with Bot 1 and Bot 2, five minutes of setup, and you'll feel it tomorrow morning (author_report, unverified).
Worth knowing
Known limitations: 1) Vault requires manual login entry; start with low-risk, infrequent sites. 2) 5-minute polling costs ~12x hourly; non-inbox bots should run daily. 3) Invoice/numbers bots require substituting placeholders like [dashboard] and [revenue / signups / views]. 4) Gift links and email bot sharing are leaked features, not yet shipped. 5) Not tested by this site.
Steps
Enable phone access and set up Vault
In the Grok Bot mobile app (iOS or Android), enable access to calendar, reminders, and contacts. Understand Vault: it stores logins and contact info so bots can sign into sites automatically. Start with low-frequency, secondary sites (billing portals, supplier sites, shop accounts, dashboards). Keep main email and banking accounts out for the first weeks.
Create the 'draft-first' safety rule
Configure a unified safety rule for all bots that may spend money, send information outside your team, delete content, or change account settings. Paste the prompt below into this rule bot's description (or append to each affected bot's description).
Execution prompt · Source text。Safety rule bot's description field, or appended to descriptions of bots that spend/send/delete
Anything that spends money, sends something outside my team, deletes something or changes an account setting is a draft until I approve it. Show me what, where, how much and why. Then wait.
Configure 7 single-job bots (paste into descriptions)
Create 7 dedicated bots in Grok Bot, one per job. Paste each prompt into the bot's Description field—not into chat—because the description is the standing order it follows automatically each day. Per the author's recommendation, start with Bot 1 (Morning brief) and Bot 2 (Call prep), then add the rest after you see results.
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 1 · Morning brief description field
Every weekday at 07:00 read today's calendar, open reminders and unread email. Send me one message: 1. the 3 things that actually matter today 2. every meeting with one line on who it is and what they want 3. anything that moved or got cancelled since yesterday If nothing is urgent, send one line: "quiet day".
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 2 · Call prep description field
15 minutes before every calendar event with someone outside my team: find them in my contacts, read my last 5 emails with them. Send me: who they are, what we last agreed, what they'll likely ask, and one question I should ask. Max 6 lines.
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 3 · Invoice collector description field; replace [billing pages listed below] with actual URLs
On the 1st of every month sign in to the billing pages listed below, download last month's invoices and forward them to my accountant with the original attachments. Send me the list with totals. If a sign-in fails or a page changed, stop and tell me. One retry max.
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 4 · Follow-ups description field
After every meeting in my calendar, draft a follow-up email with what we agreed and the next steps. Save it as a draft. Never send it. I send it.
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 5 · Inbox router description field; replace [assistant, accountant, team] with actual recipients
Every hour during work hours sort new email into: needs me / forward to [assistant, accountant, team] / ignore. Forward the second group with original formatting and attachments. Send me only the "needs me" list, max 5 items, one line each.
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 6 · Weekly numbers description field; replace [dashboard] and [revenue / signups / views] with actual dashboard and metrics
Every Monday at 08:00 sign in to [dashboard] and pull last week's [revenue / signups / views]. Compare with the week before. Send me 3 lines: what went up, what went down, the one thing worth a look.
Execution prompt · Source text。Bot 7 · Renewal watch description field
Every Friday check my email for renewal notices, price changes and trial endings. Send me what renews next week, when and how much. Never cancel or change a plan yourself. I decide.
Attach safety rule to bots that spend/send/delete
For Bot 3 (Invoice collector), Bot 4 (Follow-ups), Bot 5 (Inbox router), and any other bot that may send externally or change account settings, append the safety rule from Step 2 to their descriptions. Ensure any irreversible action generates a draft awaiting human approval.
Roll out over 7 days and tune
Day 1: Enable phone access, set up Bot 1 and Bot 2. Day 2: Read the morning brief, fix any errors in descriptions. Day 3: Add 2-3 low-frequency logins to Vault, set up Bot 3. Day 4: Add the safety rule to every bot that spends or sends. Day 5: Set up Bot 4. Day 6: Look at what you still did by hand this week— that's your next bot. Day 7: Any routine you didn't read this week: make it silent or delete it.
