CDO AI Data Analytics Team: o3 Orchestration + GPT-4.1-mini Specialist Agents
Import n8n template → configure OpenAI multi-model credentials → trigger data analytics tasks via chat and let the CDO Agent auto-delegate to 6 specialist agents
- Who
- Data/ops engineers who want to build a multi-agent analytics department in n8n, using o3 for strategy and GPT-4.1-mini to reduce execution cost
- You get
- A chat-triggered virtual data analytics department where a CDO Agent parses requests and dispatches parallel calls to 6 specialist agents
- You need
- n8n · agent-tool
Constraints
Prerequisites: n8n instance with LangChain nodes enabled; OpenAI API key with access to o3 and gpt-4.1-mini; environment that can deploy webhooks. Cost: billed per OpenAI API usage; o3 is used only for CDO decisions, while 6 specialist agents run on gpt-4.1-mini. No specific pricing is provided by the source; refer to OpenAI's official pricing.
What they did
Author yaron-nofluff published an n8n template that simulates a complete data analytics department: a CDO Agent (powered by o3) acts as the strategy hub, receives natural-language requests via Chat Trigger, and delegates to 6 specialist agentTools (all powered by gpt-4.1-mini) covering data science, BI analysis, data engineering, ML engineering, data visualization, and data governance. The workflow contains 18 nodes with full connection mappings.
How it went
The author states the template can be used for predictive analytics, KPI tracking, data pipeline automation, ML model deployment, interactive dashboards, and data governance, and claims ~90% cost reduction by using gpt-4.1-mini for specialists (author_report, unverified). The template has 1,665 views on n8n.
Worth knowing
1) The source does not provide specific system prompts for each specialist agentTool; the text field in each node is an empty fromAI template that must be populated before use. 2) The o3 model requires account eligibility; some regions or accounts may not have access. 3) Integrations with Snowflake, BigQuery, Tableau, etc. are optional extensions, not required by the template. 4) This site has not tested the workflow; reproduction=not_tested. 5) The template disclaimer states you must customize agents, prompts, and connections according to your specific data analytics requirements and organizational structure.

- OpenAI Chat Model1 node: connect OpenAI API credentials.
- OpenAI Chat Model2 node: connect OpenAI API credentials.
- OpenAI Chat Model3 node: connect OpenAI API credentials.

Configuration to replace
- Source template is n8n public workflow #6912 (~18 nodes). Keep inactive after import; verify triggers, expressions and external API endpoints.
- Sticky-note guidance is informational; replace placeholders with your own accounts, sheet schemas or channel IDs.
Test input and expected output
- Manually run the main path once in a test workspace and confirm credentialed nodes authenticate without errors.
- Drive one synthetic/redacted sample through and check output fields and downstream writes before enabling in production.
Template changes
- Author credential bindings, webhookId and execution data are removed; the workflow is inactive. Nodes, connections and original prompts are preserved. Not run-tested in n8n.
- No business-logic edits; verify keys, quotas and privacy compliance before use.

Steps
Import the workflow template
Open the template page at https://n8n.io/workflows/6912/ in n8n, click 'Use workflow', or download workflow.json and import via Settings > Import. After import you should see 18 nodes: 1 Chat Trigger, 1 CDO Agent, 1 Think Tool, 6 specialist Agent Tools, 7 OpenAI Chat Models, and 2 Sticky Notes.
Configure OpenAI credentials and models
Configure the openAiApi credential for all 7 OpenAI Chat Model nodes. Set the 'OpenAI Chat Model CDO' node to model o3; set the remaining 6 model nodes to gpt-4.1-mini. If your account does not have o3 access, confirm permissions or substitute an available model (not guaranteed by the source).
Execution prompt · Source text。Text field of the 6 specialist agentTool nodes; currently an empty fromAI template that must be filled with variables or prompts for your analytics scenario
={{ $fromAI('Prompt__User_Message_', ``, 'string') }}Deploy webhook and start analyzing
Save and activate the workflow. The Chat Trigger node auto-generates a webhook URL; copy it to your chat client or use n8n's built-in chat to send requests like 'Analyze customer churn patterns and create predictive models'. The CDO Agent (o3) parses the request, decides which specialists to call, and triggers them in parallel; results are aggregated back to the chat. To connect external BI/data platforms, append data nodes after the relevant specialist agents.

You are setting up the n8n multi-agent data analytics team template. Please confirm first: 1) your n8n version supports LangChain nodes; 2) your OpenAI account can use o3 and gpt-4.1-mini; 3) you have an openAiApi credential ready. After importing workflow.json, verify all 18 nodes are present and check that the CDO Agent is wired to o3 while the 6 specialist agentTools are wired to gpt-4.1-mini. The text field inside each agentTool is currently an empty fromAI template—populate it with scenario-specific variables before testing.
Validate n8n LangChain node availability and OpenAI model access before importing; agentTool empty templates need scenario-specific filling
