n8n

Constraints

Requires an n8n instance (self-hosted or cloud) and 5 API credentials: Bright Data (Wikipedia dataset), OpenAI (GPT-4 family), Anthropic (Claude, optional), Ideogram (image generation), and LinkedIn OAuth2 (posting permissions). Source estimates 10–15 minutes setup. Not tested by this site; actual costs depend on API usage.

What they did

incrementors published an n8n official template: users submit a Wikipedia article name via a form, Bright Data's Wikipedia dataset scrapes the full article, an AI Agent (default GPT-4.1-mini) summarizes it into under 2000 characters for LinkedIn, Ideogram generates a 1280x704 image based on the summary, and the workflow auto-posts to a specified LinkedIn profile. A Code node then converts the LinkedIn URN into a public shareable URL.

How it went

Source reports (author_report): total processing time approximately 2–4 minutes per article—Wikipedia scraping 30–60s, AI summarization 15–30s, image generation 45–90s, LinkedIn posting 10–15s. Output is a LinkedIn post with image and public link. Not tested by this site; actual timing depends on API response and network conditions.

Worth knowing

1. Bright Data, Ideogram, OpenAI/Anthropic are third-party paid services; pricing is unknown and must be evaluated independently. 2. LinkedIn OAuth2 requires posting permissions and is subject to LinkedIn rate limits. 3. The AI Agent node connects to both OpenAI Chat Model (primary) and Auto-fixing Output Parser → Anthropic Chat Model (fallback repair), but Anthropic is optional. 4. Template contains placeholder API keys for Bright Data and Ideogram that must all be replaced with real credentials before running. 5. First test recommended with well-known Wikipedia entries; obscure or complex pages may affect scrape quality. 6. This site has not tested this workflow (reproduction=not_tested); always test before using on a production account.

n8n workflow template

Structure checked · Not run-tested

Use “Import from File” in n8n, or copy the JSON and paste it into the editor. Connect your own accounts, then try test data. The template is inactive by default.

Setup and test checklist

Credentials to connect

  • OpenAI Chat Model node: connect OpenAI API credentials.
  • Create a post node: connect linkedInOAuth2Api credentials.
  • Anthropic Chat Model node: connect Anthropic API credentials.
  • Replace __UKH_BEARER_0__ with your real secret/token (path /nodes/0/parameters/headerParameters/parameters/0/value; literal auth header).
  • Replace __UKH_BEARER_2__ with your real secret/token (path /nodes/2/parameters/headerParameters/parameters/0/value; literal auth header).
  • Replace __UKH_BEARER_7__ with your real secret/token (path /nodes/7/parameters/headerParameters/parameters/0/value; literal auth header).
  • Replace __UKH_BEARER_15__ with your real secret/token (path /nodes/15/parameters/headerParameters/parameters/0/value; literal auth header).

Configuration to replace

  • Source template is n8n public workflow #6433 (~19 nodes). Keep inactive after import; verify triggers, expressions and external API endpoints.
  • Sticky-note guidance is informational; replace placeholders with your own accounts, sheet schemas or channel IDs.

Test input and expected output

  • Manually run the main path once in a test workspace and confirm credentialed nodes authenticate without errors.
  • Drive one synthetic/redacted sample through and check output fields and downstream writes before enabling in production.

Template changes

  • Author credential bindings, webhookId and execution data are removed; the workflow is inactive. Nodes, connections and original prompts are preserved. Not run-tested in n8n.
  • No business-logic edits; verify keys, quotas and privacy compliance before use. 4 literal secret value(s) replaced with __UKH_…__ placeholders.

Steps

  1. Import the workflow

In n8n, go to Workflows → + Add workflow → Import from JSON, paste the provided workflow.json, and save with a descriptive name.

  2. Configure API credentials

Add credentials in n8n for: Bright Data API (replace BRIGHT_DATA_API_KEY in all HTTP Request nodes), OpenAI API (link to OpenAI Chat Model node), Anthropic API (optional, link to Anthropic Chat Model node), Ideogram API (replace IDEOGRAM_API_KEY in Image Generate node), and LinkedIn OAuth2 (replace LINKEDIN_PROFILE_ID in Create a post node). Test each connection.

  3. Configure workflow parameters

Adjust node settings as needed: Form Trigger title and field labels; AI Agent systemMessage to change writing style; Image Generate resolution and rendering speed (default 1280x704, TURBO); LinkedIn Post additional fields like hashtags or mentions.

    =Task:-
Summarize the following article in under 2000 characters, keeping it professional, informative, and engaging enough for a LinkedIn audience.

Use bullet points if helpful. Avoid repetition. Remove any unnecessary fluff.

Tone should be confident, insightful, and thought-leadership oriented — ideal for busy professionals who want quick understanding.

    Here's the content:

    {{ $json.cataloged_text[0].text }}
    ---
  4. Test the workflow

Start with a simple Wikipedia article (e.g., "Artificial Intelligence"). Monitor each node execution log, verify summary quality, image generation, LinkedIn posting status, and final URL output. [First-test safety] Before the first test, disconnect or disable the Create a post node, or use a LinkedIn test/sandbox account; enable publishing only after the summary and image look correct.

  5. Run: submit article and get results

Access the form via its webhook URL, enter the exact Wikipedia article title, and submit. The workflow auto-executes: Bright Data scrape → AI summary (≤2000 chars) → Ideogram image → LinkedIn publish → Code node generates public link. Check n8n execution logs for progress; final output is the LinkedIn post URL.

You are an n8n workflow setup assistant. The user wants to replicate the 'Generate LinkedIn posts from Wikipedia' template. First confirm they have: an n8n instance, Bright Data API, OpenAI API, Ideogram API, and LinkedIn OAuth2 credentials. Then guide them to import workflow.json, configure credentials, adjust the AI Agent systemMessage style, test, and run. Do not generate or modify API keys for the user.

Requires 5 sets of API credentials; AI Agent systemMessage is customizable; first run recommended with 'Artificial Intelligence'.
