Auto-generate SubmitRax forms with n8n + Claude and host on GitHub Pages
Natural language description → Claude Sonnet calls SubmitRax MCP to generate form HTML → auto-publish to GitHub Pages and return a live link
- Who
- Operators or developers who need to quickly deploy data-collecting forms on static sites
- You get
- Generate styled HTML forms via chat and automatically receive a public GitHub Pages link
Constraints
Import this template into n8n, configure SubmitRax Bearer Token, Anthropic API Key, GitHub PAT, and repository details, then enable the Chat Trigger to generate and host forms through natural language conversation.
What they did
Pollup published an n8n official template where users describe form requirements through the Chat Trigger in natural language. A Claude Sonnet AI Agent calls the SubmitRax MCP server to generate form HTML, then the workflow automatically checks whether the corresponding file exists in a GitHub Pages repository, creates or updates it, and returns the public hosted link. The template includes complete node wiring, parameter configurations, and sticky note instructions.
How it went
The author reports that the workflow generates Tailwind CSS-styled form HTML, automatically hosts it on GitHub Pages, and returns the formKey and hosted URL (author_report). SubmitRax handles backend data collection and can route submissions to email, Slack, Discord, or webhooks.
Worth knowing
GitHub Pages links take time to go live; the author advises patience ('The hosted URL link tak ea while to go live. Be patient!'). If using the gh-pages branch instead of main, manually update the branch parameter in both GitHub nodes. The Get Public Form HTML node is not explicitly present in the provided workflow.json; sticky-notes indicate you should confirm the endpoint against SubmitRax API docs. The template defaults to claude-sonnet-5 but can be swapped for other Claude models or OpenAI, Gemini, etc. This site has not tested this workflow.
Steps
Configure SubmitRax and Anthropic credentials
Create two credentials in n8n: 1) HTTP Bearer Auth with your SubmitRax API token from submitrax.com; 2) Anthropic API with your API key for the Claude Sonnet model node.
Configure GitHub repository and Pages hosting
Create a public GitHub repository with GitHub Pages enabled (deploying from main by default). Generate a Personal Access Token with repo contents read/write access, create a GitHub credential in n8n, and attach it to the relevant nodes. Open the GitHub Hosting Config node and replace githubUsername and pagesRepo with your actual username and repository name.
Enter form requirements via Chat Trigger
Open the n8n Chat Trigger and describe your desired form in natural language, including fields and styling. No HTML writing required.
Execution prompt · Source text。Chat Trigger user input example
Create a form with a data field called "Date of birth", a "comment" textarea, and a text field "Name". Make it look nice with tailwind CSS.
AI Agent calls MCP to generate the form
The SubmitRax Form Agent1 node uses Claude Sonnet 5 as the language model, connected to the SubmitRax MCP Tool and a structured output parser. The agent calls the MCP service to create a form endpoint and returns structured data containing comment, formKey, and html.
Safety tip: human confirmation before action
Safety tip (editorial safety note, not the template author's practice): before the workflow commits files to your GitHub repository and publishes to GitHub Pages, have a human confirm the content and the target repository.
Check and publish to GitHub Pages
The workflow checks whether forms/<formKey>.html already exists via a GitHub node: if it exists, the file is updated; if not, a new file is created. Both branches converge at the Compose Hosted URL node.
Retrieve the live form link
The Compose Hosted URL1 node constructs the public URL https://<username>.github.io/<repo>/forms/<formKey>.html from the GitHub Hosting Config values, and returns it together with the comment and formKey.
