Create High-Quality Stable Long Videos with Muse, Doubao Work, and ChatGPT
Script → storyboard → key frame → shot-by-shot generation → stitching: a three-tool workflow for long-form video
- Who
- Content creators who need long-form video and are willing to coordinate multiple tools; requires accounts for Muse, Doubao Work, and ChatGPT
- You get
- A ~3-minute stable-style final video (e.g. 18–21 stitched shots)
- You need
- Muse · Doubao · ChatGPT
Constraints
Requires accounts for Muse, Doubao Work, and ChatGPT; Muse video generation uses free tier; ChatGPT needs GPT Image 2.5 capability; final stitching uses ffmpeg (script written by Muse). Total duration split into ~10-second shots.
What they did
Author jarvis11x generated 488 videos with Muse over 20+ days, iterating through three phases: Phase 1, Muse-only direct output ('Chang'an Anecdotes: The Unowned Palace Lantern'); Phase 2, adding Doubao Work for storyboarding the Heavenly Palace series ('Yun Gong Xun Yin'); Phase 3, switching to ChatGPT for key frames and Muse for video generation ('Ghibli Animation Collection', 21 shots). Final fixed division: Doubao Work for prompts, ChatGPT for reference images, Muse for video generation and stitching.
How it went
Author report: Muse-only output was feasible but required heavy rework; adding Doubao Work made review easier because shot transitions were planned upfront; switching to ChatGPT for key frames improved detail (roof tiles, walls, bays, distant mountains) and reduced 'AI look', yielding more stable quality than Muse direct output. Muse's free tier suited repeated shot experimentation.
Worth knowing
1. Muse generates fixed 10-second shots; ~3 minutes needs ~18 shots. 2. Final stitching must handle mixed aspect ratios (3:2 and 16:9), unified to 1280×720 via ffmpeg. 3. Music, watermark, and cut points need human final review; tools cannot replace aesthetic judgment. 4. Source does not specify Doubao Work version/feature entry, nor ChatGPT subscription tier required for GPT Image 2.5. 5. Not tested by this site; steps compiled from author report.
Steps
Draft the full storyboard with Doubao Work
In Doubao Work, specify genre, total duration, and aspect ratio. Have it search TikTok/Douyin for viral videos of the same genre and Seedance official prompt tips, then output a full shot list in ~10-second increments. Each shot needs: frame at 0s, camera movement for 0–10s, end composition, and how it connects to the next shot. Lock character/scene/prop descriptions after approval; reuse verbatim later.
Generate key-frame reference images with ChatGPT
Send the complete creative brief from Doubao Work to ChatGPT. Have it understand the overall style, then generate one reference image per shot using GPT Image 2.5. Review each image for character, composition, scene, and lighting; revise if needed before handing to Muse.
Generate and select shots one by one in Muse
In Muse, submit each approved key-frame reference image together with its corresponding 10-second prompt to generate video shot by shot. Review each shot individually, then check against adjacent shots for character consistency, motion/camera drift, and smooth transitions. If a shot fails after 10–15 attempts, simplify the action or change the approach; if native dialogue doesn't work, revise the shot design.
Stitch and final review
Have Muse write an ffmpeg script to unify all shots to 1280×720 (or target resolution), handle mixed aspect ratios (e.g. 3:2 and 16:9), then concatenate in order. Watch the full cut: check every cut point, music/ambient sound, and watermark placement.
