Steps

1. Register, sign in, and verify eligibility

   Open the Grok Bot download page and install the client for your OS. Open the app and click Sign in; your browser will redirect to the Cursor login page. After authentication, return to Grok Bot. If your eligibility comes from SuperGrok, follow the prompt to Link Grok Account; enterprise accounts use organizational SSO. On first entry, choose a recommended Bot or click Create your own. If your account is in Legacy Privacy Mode, adjust data settings to allow cloud storage first.

2. Create your first Bot and give it a smoke-test task

   Click Create your own and fill in three fields on the creation page: Name, Main job, and Working style. Start with a single Bot responsible for one inspectable outcome, such as 'weekly topic research'. After creation, assign a simple task that needs no connectors and no website logins, to test file reading, format compliance, and citation habits.

6. Save Skill and create Routine

   After a task runs successfully, have the Bot save a Skill. The Skill records steps, input sources, decision rules, and output format. Test again with a second dataset to confirm the Bot handles missing information and failures. Once verified, create a Routine to run the Skill on a schedule or event trigger. Example: every Monday at 9 AM generate a topic brief with links; if the data source fails, report failure and do not use stale data. The source-recommended order is: manual task → correct results → save Skill → second test → finally automate.
