Who
Knowledge workers who collect a lot of information and want to reduce manual note curation
You get
Grok Bot auto-files Inbox items into Sources, retrieves existing notes on demand, and checks project status weekly
You need
Google Drive · Composio

Constraints

Requires Grok Bot app (Mac/Windows/iPhone) on a paid plan that includes the bot (SuperGrok individual or paid Cursor plan); Google Drive account; create SecondBrain folder with five subfolders in Drive; authorize Drive access via Composio plugin. Grok Bot is still in beta and button labels may change.

What they did

Author @0xAIlabs built a second brain three times and abandoned each due to manual curation overhead. They then used Grok Bot's Librarian role with a 5-folder Google Drive system (Inbox/Sources/Projects/Memory/Rules), connected Drive via the Composio plugin, and set a scheduled Routine to delegate collecting, auto-filing, on-demand retrieval, and weekly project review to the bot.

How it went

Author reports: dropping links or notes into Inbox or sending them to the bot, with a Routine auto-filing every weekday morning; asking the bot what they already know before researching to avoid duplication; weekly project check takes about five minutes to keep the project list current. Grok Bot has weekly usage limits; author recommends one Routine per day and not importing years of old notes on day one.

Worth knowing

Grok Bot is still in beta and button labels may change; requires SuperGrok individual or paid Cursor plan to access the bot; Composio is the bridge to Google Drive, but the source does not state whether it requires separate payment or specific authorization scopes; the Routine configuration UI is not shown in the source.

Steps

  1. Create the vault folder in Google Drive

Open Google Drive and create a folder named SecondBrain. Inside it, create five subfolders: Inbox, Sources, Projects, Memory, Rules. Create a rules.md file inside Rules (leave it empty for now; it will later mirror the rules in the Bot description).

  2. Create the Librarian bot in Grok Bot

Open the Grok Bot app and create a new Bot. Name it Librarian and set the title to "Second brain keeper".

  3. Paste the Librarian role into Bot description

Paste the full rules below into the Bot's Description field. The Description serves as the bot's main instructions. Save the same text into Rules/rules.md so you can edit it later.

Execution prompt · Source text。Grok Bot's Bot Description field; also save as Google Drive /SecondBrain/Rules/rules.md

You are Librarian. You keep my second brain in the Google Drive folder SecondBrain.
Folders: Inbox, Sources, Projects, Memory, Rules.
     Read Rules/rules.md before every task.

     Filing
     1. Everything new goes to Inbox first.
     2. When you process Inbox, make one note per item in Sources.
Format: title, link, 5 line summary, why it matters to me, related project.
     3. If a Project fits, add one line with a link to the new Source note.
If no Project fits, do not create one. Ask me.
     4. Never delete. Move processed items to Inbox/done.

     Memory
     5. Write to Memory only facts I state directly. Never guess things about me.
     6. If a new fact replaces an old one, update it and keep the old one in one line below.
    Answering
     7. When I ask what I know about something, search my vault first and link the notes you used.
     8. If the vault has nothing, say so. Use the web only when I ask.

     Limits
     9. Ask me before deleting, sharing, sending or publishing anything.
     10. In Routines, if there is nothing new, send nothing.
     11. Keep messages to me short. Say what changed, nothing else.
  4. Install Composio plugin and connect Google Drive

In Grok Bot, click Plugins in the left sidebar, search for Composio, and click Add. Composio is the bridge to Google Drive. Return to chat and send: Connect to my Google Drive. Approve the sign-in prompt.

  5. Test the connection

Send: List the folders in SecondBrain. Confirm the bot lists all five folders: Inbox, Sources, Projects, Memory, Rules. If correct, the connection is working.

  6. Set up the daily Routine

After the test succeeds, ask the bot to create a Routine: every weekday morning, process Inbox. This means the bot reads Inbox, creates Source notes per the rules, updates Projects, moves originals to Inbox/done, and sends a short summary.

  7. Optional: sync locally to Obsidian

If you have the Google Drive desktop client syncing the SecondBrain folder, you can open that local folder as a vault in Obsidian. The bot does not depend on Obsidian; this step is only for local browsing convenience.
