Install the DS Bot desktop app and finish team setup with Chief
Official README: download from Releases, then talk to the main bot Chief
- Who
- Users who want the DS Bot desktop app (bundled DSH) to stand up a multi-bot team quickly
- You get
- Desktop app installed, a model configured, and other bots/group chats created by talking to Chief
- You need
- DS Bot · DeepSeek Harness
Constraints
Download the OS package from Releases → clear OS security prompts and launch → choose data location and configure a model → talk to the default main bot Chief to finish setup.
Steps
Download package
Open Releases (https://github.com/Fei2411/DS-Bot/releases) and download the desktop package for your OS: Windows `DeepSeek-Bot-<version>-win-x64.exe`; macOS Apple silicon `…-mac-arm64.zip` / Intel `…-mac-x64.zip`; Linux `…-linux-x86_64.AppImage` or, on Debian/Ubuntu, `…-linux-amd64.deb`. Use the version shown on Releases at download time (latest observed at fetch: v0.2.4).
Install & launch
Install and launch per the README: on Windows, if SmartScreen appears choose More info → Run anyway (per-user install, no admin); on macOS drag into Applications and, if needed, System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway; on Linux make the AppImage executable and install FUSE 2 first (Ubuntu 24.04+ can also use the deb to avoid sandbox blocks). The desktop app bundles DSH — you do not need to install DSH first.
First-run setup
On first launch choose where data and Bot files live; optionally copy a Bot team from an existing DSH (read-only); configure at least one model in app settings (DS Bot uses those models; the README does not name a specific model id — do not invent tags).
Talk to Chief
Open the default main bot Chief and talk to it so it walks you through creating other bots and group chats (when in doubt, ask the main bot). This case’s primary path is desktop + Chief; DSH plugin / source / Docker are separate README sections or sibling cases — do not treat this as an npx-only install.

I strongly recommend that you set up your other bots and group chats by just talking to a bot. ### Main bot The main bot is your chief. It has very high rights: it manages the other bots and the group chats. The first time you open DS Bot, there is already a main bot called Chief. Talk to it, and it walks you through the setup. In short: have a question? Ask the main bot.
Prompt you can copy
Setup guidance · Editorial suggestion。Give to a setup assistant; not a node execution prompt.
This block is the prompt. Ads are never placed here.
This case is desktop install + Chief setup guidance. The official README has no pasteable end-user task prompt. Follow the steps below to install from Releases, configure a model on first launch, then talk to Chief; copyable official setup wording is in the step prompt blocks.
prompt_mode=not_applicable; main prompt is an editorial opener (provenance=editorial) pointing to steps. Step blocks carry README setup wording (provenance=source). Do not invent user-task prompts.
