Constraints

Link your flight booking needs and existing airline loyalty status in dots, then let the agent automatically search for status-match opportunities, fill out application forms, obtain electronic certificates, and complete the booking after your confirmation. No prompt writing is needed; simply describe your needs to the agent step by step.

What they did

User johnjjung shared on X that his dot (OpenAI dots agent) found an airline status match and then secured four move-to-lie-flat-seat upgrade certificates for him. The dot filled out all the forms, obtained email confirmations, read the terms, and booked the flight.

How it went

The author reported that without the dot's help, he would have simply booked the flight and missed out on these upgrades (author_report). All four certificates were successfully obtained and the booking was completed.

Worth knowing

The source is extremely brief and does not specify the airline, status tier, or match policy; rules and seat inventory vary significantly by carrier and region. Agent actions involve personal identity and payment details, so manual review of terms and fees before final booking is advised. This workflow has not been tested by our site; reproduction status is not_tested.

Steps

  1. Tell your dot about your flight and loyalty status

Start or continue a conversation in dots. Tell your dot your flight plan (route, dates, preferred airline) and your existing frequent-flyer status. Explicitly ask it to search for status-match opportunities and apply for lie-flat seat upgrade certificates.

  2. Review the agent's work and finalize the booking

The dot will automatically search for matching status-match programs, fill out application forms, receive email confirmations, and review terms. You will receive four lie-flat seat upgrade certificates (or equivalent confirmations). Check the certificate details and flight compatibility, then authorize the dot to complete the final booking.
